  Master Hunting Program

The final step in your dogs training is our Master Hunt Program. By this point your dog understands many of the basic and advanced commands and skills that are necessary for a hunting companion. But, to get the ultimate hunting dog there are a few more things to train it in. This program focuses on enforcing all the previous skills and commands that have been taught as well as adding much more difficulty in the types of retrieves seen. Longer distances, larger bodies of water, rivers, quartering, and more goes into this program. By the time your dog completes the Master Hunt Program you will have an unbelievable bird dog that can handle just about any type of situation thrown at it. There is also a Master AKC title that can be earned. Contact us for details if you are interested in having your dog receive this title.

The following commands/skills will be taught to your dog:

  • Quartering - The dog will be taught to forage a small distance ahead of you when hunting land game and try to flush the birds up.

  • Hand Signals - The dog will be taught how to respond to certain hand signals and voice commands. These signals include back, right, and left

  • Line Drills - The dog will retrieve a line of objects one at a time, starting with the most forward one.

  • Long Distance Retrieves - The dog will be taught to pick up retrieves from a longer distance, and those with much more difficulty then seen in either of the the two earlier programs.

  • Blinds - The dog will be able to be led to a bird that it did not see drop through hand signals and sit whistles.

  • Greater Exposure - More experience with a variety of hunting situations including guns, decoys, multiple flocks of birds, etc.
